The Mexican fire opal is a magnificent gemstone that is born from a marriage of two opposing elements, fire and water. Under heat and pressure, the opal is created when water seeps into silica rich lava, taking on the organic shape of the seams and hollows that it fills. The fire opals have a natural fluid shape and a smooth surface after polishing. They seem to glow with a deep warm orange red hue that captivates the eye and have a combined weight of 20.15 carats. The gold mountings holding these opals are pave set with round white diamonds that surround the opal. Above the opal is an organic fluid gold shape that mirrors the shape of the opal, this component is pierced in the middle with the same shape and has jump rings on the top and bottom. A flush set round white diamond is in the center of the component above this. All the diamonds set on the earrings have a combined weight of 1.19 carats. The French hook component at the very top of the earrings is pave set with a single line of five diamonds that run up the front of the earring hooks.
